How I Knit A Top Down Raglan Summer Tee Without A Pattern

During my recent swatching session for a specific pattern, I encountered a frustrating roadblock—I couldn’t achieve the required gauge, no matter which yarns I experimented with. In the midst of this challenge, I stumbled upon a promising combination: Lion Brand Cotton Bamboo Linen and Knit Picks Lindy Chain. Together, they produced a lovely fabric, perfect for a summer tee.
Opting to embrace the unexpected synergy of these yarns, I forwent the original pattern and ventured into the realm of improvisation. In the March episode of the My Knitting Companion Podcast, I share the details of how I tackled this project without a set plan. Tune in to get the practical insights into navigating the challenges of going off-script in your knitting journey. My latest episode is at the bottom of this list:
I am so pleased with the finished garment! I know it will be a staple of my summer wardobe and I’ve already cast on another one, this time in white using Bamboo Pop 4 Ply and Lindy Chain.

In this episode, we delve into a variety of topics beyond this knitting adventure, including insights on blocking winter knits, a glimpse at my wors-in-progress (check out my granny square project below), highlights of finished projects, and exciting updates from my Etsy shop at http://pearlandcloveryarnco.etsy.com. There’s so much more to discover, so I encourage you to tune in and give it a listen!
